Srinagar, Jul 06 (KNS): Community Health Centre (CHC) Langate is going to have its Emergency Room (ER) fully functional after Dr Nazir Ahmad, who is Block Medical Officer (BMO) also, underwent a specialized training course conducted by Director General Health Services Kashmir (DGHSK) in collaboration with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
A three day training program Emergency Room Trauma Course (ERTC) for doctors and paramedics, that was organized by (DGHSK) with technical support of ICRC, concluded today at Institute of Hotel Management complex here at Rajbagh.
The ICRC trainers and facilitators included Dr Khursheed Iqbal (Consultant, ERTC Trainer ICRC), Dr Iqbal Fateh Khan, Dr Manzoor Rather (Consultant Anaesthesia, Master Trainer ERTC), Manash Mohan (Health Field Officer, ICRC, J&K) imparted training to 25 participants including Dr Nazir Ahmad , BMO Langate.
Dr Saleem ur Rehman while participating in the concluding ceremony said that the department is working hard to make peripheral hospitals deliver better services and manage the emergencies efficiently. “The department is stressing to follow the continuum of care, starting from pre-hospital care to extensive care at the emergency room of different peripheral hospitals across Kashmir province so that there is better deliverance of care in stabilizing and managing emergency patients” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDr Ajnum Soni, Deputy Medical Coordinator ICRC, who too was present at the occasion, appreciated the dedicated approach of DGHSK for his efforts of enhancing the services for better patient care in peripheral hospitals.
The establishment of (ER) in peripheral health institutions is one of the initiatives of its kind taken and promoted by DGHSK Dr Saleem ur Rahman with the aim of managing emergency cases better to save the precious lives. Emergency Rooms have been established in many peripheral hospitals for which More than 600 doctors of DGHSK have been already been trained.
Dr Saleem ur Rahman while conducting a surprise visit of CHC Langate, last week, was happy to find an ER established however he deputed BMO Langate for a specialized training course so that the ER could be run professionally and more staff trained locally by BMO himself. (KNS)
