Srinagar, May 11 (KNS): Employees Joint Action Committee Wednesday held a convention in Kupwara town and vowed to strengthen the trade unionism in the state for fighting for the issues of the workers.
Thousands of employees and dozens of its leaders attended the convention that was presided over by EJAC president Abdul Qayoom Wani and organised by Mir Fayaz, Kupwara Distrcit President.
Speaking on the occasion where unique gathering of employees were present, Wani said that the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has assured them to address all their issues during a meeting in Civil Secretariat on Monday.
However, he said that some politicians and bureaucrats are conspiring to weaken trade unionism in the state.
Wani said that EJAC will fight against the designs of these people and will mobilize employees in the districts to fight against these conspiracies and machinations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWani monimated Nazir Ahmad Mir as EJAC Vice Presdient of the state.
While addressing the meployees, Mir fayaz said that the employees will not take the 7th pay commission until the 61,000 daily wagers are regularised. He said that after regularisation they are also entiltled to 7th pay commission.
The employees union facilitated news organizations including Kashmir News Service (KNS), Shaherbeen, Urdu daily, Tameel-i-Irshad and Etv Urdu for their contribution in journalism.
Among others EJAC leaders who attended the convention were Farooq Ahmad Trali, Shabir Ahmad Langoo, Mohammad Afzal Bhat, Manzoor Ahmad Pampori, Farooq Ahmad Khan, Khalid Mehmood Khan, Mohammad Rafiq Rather and Tariq Ahmad Sofi. (KNS)
