Bandipora July 20 (KNS): Eight people were injured after a football match turned violent in Kehnoosa village of Bandipora on Sunday.
The match, played between local teams from Ajar and Ayathmulla, took an ugly turn when a scuffle broke out between players from Ajar and some local villagers during the high-voltage game.
Eyewitnesses said tensions on the field quickly escalated, resulting in a physical clash. Players and a few spectators from the Ajar side were injured and taken to District Hospital Bandipora.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHospital authorities confirmed all were stable.
Divisional Officer Saqib Hassan of Aloosa Police Station told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that an FIR has been registered, and a probe is underway to determine the cause of the violence.
Police have urged locals to maintain peace during sporting events, calling such incidents “unfortunate” as they undermine the spirit of healthy competition. Authorities assured strict action against those responsible.(KNS)
