Egg Samples in Kashmir Pass Quality Tests, Says Food Safety Dept

Srinagar, Jan 09 (KNS): Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Kashmir Hilal Ahmad Mir on Friday said that all egg samples lifted from different parts of the Kashmir division have been declared safe and of standard quality.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir said a total of 29 egg samples were collected from various districts of the Kashmir division on November 20 as part of a routine inspection drive.

He said the samples were sent for laboratory testing to check for quality, safety, and compliance with food standards.

“The laboratory reports have confirmed that all the samples conform to the prescribed standards. No adulteration, contamination, or substandard quality was found in any of the samples,” he said.

Mir said the sampling was carried out following concerns raised regarding the quality of eggs being sold in local markets.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He said the Food Safety Department initiated the drive to ensure public health safety and to address apprehensions among consumers.

He said the department conducts regular inspections and sample testing of food items across the Kashmir division to ensure compliance with food safety norms. “Such drives are aimed at maintaining transparency, ensuring consumer confidence, and taking action wherever violations are found,” he added.

The Assistant Commissioner further said that the department will continue its surveillance and enforcement measures to ensure that only safe and quality food items reach consumers, he said.(KNS)
