Eco-Club PPND GDC Samba celebrates world environment day

Jammu June 05 (KNS):  On 50th anniversary of World Environment Day, Eco Club of Pt.Prem Nath Dogra Govt Degree College Samba, launched a plantation drive in collaboration with Cadila Pharma. In total, 30 Ashoka tree saplings were planted in the college campus to serve the dual purpose of environment protection and campus- beautification. Anuj Gupta, H R Head,  Bipin Thathiyal, Vice  President Quality Control, Dr Rather, Factory Medical  Ofiicer  and Satpal, Security Head from Cadila Pharma visited the college for the drive. 


Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the institution exhorted that the day inspires us to act locally and think globally, fostering a sense of responsibility for our planet. She motivated the students and staff to focus on solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ in letter and spirit.

 Also, a green initiative of raising a vertical garden was taken up for which Dr Nazia Rasool, Head E V S Department, SPMR College of Commerce was invited as an expert, she demonstrated the skills involved in vertical garden installation to the students. 

The entire drive was supervised by Prof Vijay Chandan, Convernor Eco Club with an active support by its members including Dr Kuldeep Singh, Dr Sushma Sharma, Dr Yash Paul, Prof Rashu Sharma and Prof Babita Kumari and Dr Javed Ahmed.(KNS)
