Srinagar, Sep 19 (KNS): Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday reiterated his appeal to the world leadership to press for “honourable solution” to “grave situation” in Jammu Kashmir during the 71st general assembly session of the United Nations while urging the Kashmiri people across world to organise rallies and seminars during the speeches of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian representatives.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah appealed the Kashmiris living across the world to organise rallies and seminars during the speeches of Pak PM Nawaz Sharif (September 21) and Indian representatives (September 26) to garner the world attention towards the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
“I make humble appeal to the representatives and members of Muslim League (N), Muslim League (Q), Jama’at-e-Islami, Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Tehreek-e-Isqlal, and other parties to unite in highlighting the grave atrocities and reign of oppression unleashed by India in occupied Kashmir besides pressurize the world community to resolve this vexed issue. I appeal all the parties of Pakistan to protest outside UN headquarters in this regard,” Shah said.
The DFP chairman said Kashmiri nation has pinned great hopes on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that he would aware the world about the bloodbath carried out by India in the occupied territory and persuade the world community to take immediate steps in this regard.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said with the beginning of the speeches of Indian representatives on September 22, the well-wishers of Kashmiri nation should register strong protests outside UN to aware the world about the grave human rights violations committed by India in occupied Kashmir since last 70 years particularly during the last more than 70 days wherein innocent civilians were killed, maimed and blinded by the use of lethal pellet guns and more than 12000 injured.
“We must also remind the UN to fulfill its promise of conducting a referendum in the disputed territory. Also, the OIC must move beyond passing of resolutions and pressurize India and world community to resolve the Kashmir,” he said.
Appealing people not to lose hope, Shabir Ahmad Shah said our cries are being heard across the globe and “the need of the hour is to remain steadfast and continue protests”. “We are well aware of the sacrifices rendered by every section of society. Now, during the ongoing UN session, we must infuse a new spirit in the freedom movement. History is witness that only those nations achieve success who exhibit consistency and steadfastness in their struggles,” Shah said. (KNS)
