Srinagar, May 10 (KNS): Tragedy struck the Kounserbal area of Damhal Hanjipora in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday when a dumper driver suffered a fatal electric shock while unloading sand.

The victim, identified as Showkat Ahmad Parray, son of Abdul Hameed Parray from Yadder Pulwama, tragically lost his life on the spot.

Local residents have pointed fingers at the Power Development Department (PDD), alleging negligence. They claim that transmission lines, left dangerously low, pose a grave threat to lives in the area.

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, while locals appeal to higher authorities to address the issue promptly to prevent similar tragedies in the future.(KNS)
