Drug de-addiction day celebrated in Baramulla

Baramulla, 26 June:-(KNS) Department of Drug Control organisation hold awareness program-cum rally, to mark international Day against drug abuse and illicit Trafficking' on saturday.

 

 

"With an aim to strengthen global action and coperation to achieve the aim of making the world free of drug abuse, 26th June has been observed as international Day against Drug Abuse and illicit Trafficking' since 1987 with a different theme every year.

 

In this regard,Two separate rallies were held, one at old hospital road Baramulla and the other at GMC bla. The rallies were flagged by Drug control officer bla (HQ) under the guidance of Assistant Drugs Controller Baramulla/kupwara Mr Mohammad Bashir.

The rallies witnessed huge participation and was attended by people from all walks of life. The rallies were organized by Chemist association Baramulla in collaboration with the Drug Control Organization Baramulla. Drug control officers, Yousuf mohidine and Farooz Ahmad represented the rallies on behalf of the deptt.

Further more, similar rallies were also organized by the chemist associations at various tehsil hqs of distt. Bla and kupwara.

Chemists association of Pattan and tangmarg also conducted a simillar rallies at trauma hospital pattan and SDH tangmarg respectively, against drug menace and displayed banners with slogans against drug abuse.

 

 

The theme for the 2021 International Day against Drug abuse and illicit Trafficking, 'Share Facts on Drugs, Save Lives, the theme promotes combating misinformation and sharing drugs-related facts as well as solutions for treatment to fight against the problem all over the world.(KNS)
