Drug and Food Control organisation organises Jan Aushadhi public outreach programme at Baramulla

Baramulla, Dec 08 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Drug Control Organisation & Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna today organised 12th Jan Aushadhi public outreach programme in UPHC, Baramulla under the directions of Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education Vivek Bhardwaj.

The program is aimed at creating awareness about the benefits of the scheme through which quality medicines are made available to the general public at affordable prices. Hundreds of such Medical Kendras (stores) have already been established throughout J&K.

Drug Controller Jammu & Kashmir Lotika Khajuria was present as chief guest in the event. She enlightens upon the benefits of the scheme for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and ensured that every help would be provided for providing benefits of the scheme to even the people of the remotest areas of the Jammu & Kashmir. She urged upon all stake holders especially Doctors for their active support for success of this scheme.

Rifat Nazir Nodal Officer, PMBI for J&K and Ladakh presented a detailed report about the progress and future prospectus in district Baramullah and Kupwara. She emphasised in detail how the availability of the medicines is made available in better way for smooth function of the Kendras.  She said that the Union Government is committed to provide the best quality medicines to the people of the country at affordable prices and informed about “Jan Aushadhi Sugam” mobile app locate nearby Jan Aushadhi Kenrda.

Dr Syed Mir Ji Andrabi CMO Baramullah , Dr Mehraj-u-din CMO Kupwara reiterated its commitment for opening of Jan Aushadhi Kendra in all unrepresented Health Institutions of District Baramulla and Kupwara.

Irfana Ahmad Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir, Dr Nishat Assistant Director DHS, Surinder Mohan Tickoo Deputy Drug Controller Jammu, Iqbal Ahmad Assistant Drug Controller Jammu and Mohammad Younis Assistant Drug Controller Srinagar also speak on the occasion and aware general public about its benefits as well as quality assurances. 

The programme was organised under the supervision of Irfana Ahmad Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir, Drug Control Officers of District Bramullah and Kupwara. The other dignitaries attended the event were Medical Superintendents, Faculty from GMC Baramulla, all BMOs, Drug control officers of Baramulla and Kupwara District Baramulla and Kupwara. PMBI medicines sole distributors for Kashmir and Ladakh Malik Sales Agencies and his team, owners and pharmacists of different Kendra owners from District Baramulla and Kupwara and people from different walks of life were present in the awareness programme.
