Srinagar, May 13 (KNS): Former minister and senior Congress leader, Dr.Manohar Lal Sharma expressed his anger and deep concern on the irresponsible statement issued by Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh.
Pertinently, Dr Nirmal Singh earlier alleged that Indian Army is harassing civilians in the state.
While addressing mass gathering at Darung Billawar, Dr Sharma as per the statement issued to KNS strongly condemned and questioned the credibility of such statements.
“Indian Army is one of the best defence forces of the world and has served the nation not only in situations of internal or external threat but also spearheads releif and rescue operations in natural calamities,” he said.
Dr Sharma said that in militancy hit state of J&K it's only owing to defence forces that situation is held under control.
He expressed dismay that instead of expressing gratitude for the services and extreme sacrifice of our forces such derogatory statements of BJP leaders expose their fake nationalist ideology and should be opposed by every section of society.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Dr Sharma further added that the building issue on which this controversial statement is issued must be investigated by state agencies to depth and it must be ensured that no compromise with the security of army shall be made under any circumstances.
He expressed surprise on the “dead silence of centre BJP on this statement, that has not only tarnished pseudo nationalist propaganda of BJP but also demoralized the morals of our Army.”
He said centre BJP shall clear its stand on this and must take strict disciplinary action to prevent any such misleading statements by BJP state leaders in coming future.
Dr Sharma further raised doubt that to whom BJP want to please by giving such statements and cautioned that such statements by BJP senior leaders are clear reflection of the language used by separatist and anti-nationals which is a matter of grave concern.
He said that “we are standing with our defence forces and will fight tooth and nails against anyone bringing bad name to them.” (KNS)
