Dr Manmohan Singh’s tenure as PM was Kashmir’s Golden era: Kadfeen

Srinagar, Sep 26 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Saturday while felicitating former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on his 88th birthday termed him a quintessential economist who got India out of the morass of uncertainty during the most troubled times.
According to stamen issued to KNS reads, Kadfeen in his message of felicitation said that Dr Singh has taken series of measures for Kashmir’s overall growth and development besides making peace an inseparable feature of the region. From ushering in a new era of growth and development in Kashmir to the initiation of series of confidence building measures, Dr Singh did everything which was expected from a seasoned politician and a just leader like him.
Kadfeen said that unlike BJP government that has vandalised Jammu and Kashmir for its own vested interests, Dr Singh’s government from 2004 to 2014 fostered new bonds of friendship, initiated dialogue with the stake holders and turned Kashmir into hub of peace and development. He said all the major projects in Jammu and Kashmir were taken during the tenure of Dr Manmohan Singh and new horizons were witnessed in sectors of agriculture, tourism, health and education. “Compared to today’s situation when Jammu and Kashmir is reeling under massive crises on all fronts, Dr Singh’s tenure as country’s Prime Minister was the golden ere for the erstwhile state,” said Kadfeen while wishing Dr Singh good health and happiness.
