Srinagar March 1 (KNS): Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice Chairperson {VC) Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) today chaired a meeting to review the performance of different schemes being implemented by the board in UT of J&K. The meeting was attended by Senior Officers from the Board.
It was informed in the meeting that during the current financial year Margin Money to the tune of Rs 12960.18 Lacs has been released for establishment of 5925 units (including 2363 for women entrepreneurs) under various Employment generation programmes viz JKREGP/PMEGP thereby envisaging employment to fifty thousand entrepreneurs approximately. Vice Chairperson stressed the need for active involvement of field officers in propagating and disseminating the aims and objectives of JKREGP and PMEGP Schemes among target group. Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat advised all the officers of the Board to work in a transparent manner and provide all type of handholding support to the youth for the success of their ventures and gave on spop instructions to all District Officers that cases should not be pending beyond 45 days. She advised the participating officers to act as catalyst in percolating the benefits of the government schemes to local masses. Hon'ble Vice Chairperson also reviewed the status of SFURTI clusters being established in UT of J&K and advised the officers of the Board and stake holders to work in close tandem and ensure commissioning of the clusters within timelines so that people get benefit from these clusters.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary/CEO KVIB directed the officers to ensure quality sponsorship preferably under priority sector, so that success stories are created in due course of time.(KNS)
