Srinagar, 26 Sep (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous Saturday visited various areas of the Habba Kadal constituency to review ongoing development works and projects under construction.

During the visit, Shameema Firdous laid the foundation stone for a drainage project at Gol Market, Karan Nagar. The approximately 200-metre-long drainage project is being executed at a cost of Rs 27 lakh and will fulfil a long-pending demand of the residents. She said that another drain would also be constructed in the area at an estimated cost of Rs 12 lakh.

Shameema Firdous also inspected the ongoing works on development projects worth around Rs 1 Cr in Dal Hassan Yar, Purshiar, Fateh Kadal, Kazgari Masjid and Barbar Shah areas. She directed the concerned departments to pay special attention to the quality and pace of the works so that the benefits of these projects reach the people within the stipulated time.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

On the occasion, Shameema Firdous said that the elected National Conference government, despite limited resources and available powers, is continuously taking measures to provide maximum relief to the people and improve basic amenities. She said the Omar Abdullah-led government has kept the difficulties faced by ordinary people among its priorities, and work is being undertaken according to public needs in areas including roads, drainage, drinking water, electricity, healthcare, transport and other basic services.

She said the government has undertaken several welfare measures, including free ration and six gas cylinders for poor and needy families, free travel for women and specially abled persons in government buses, enhanced marriage assistance for deserving girls, creation of employment and self-employment opportunities, and improvement of basic infrastructure and medical facilities in the health sector.(KNS)
