Srinagar, August 20:(KNS)  The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Friday condemned the barbaric killing of Apni Party leader Ghulam Hassan Lone in Devsar, Kulgam the other day.

While condemning the gruesome incident, Dr Farooq said that such incidents of violence will hinder the return of peace to Jammu and Kashmir. He said such despicable and horrendous acts of violence only leave behind a trail of lifelong miseries. The trend of political assassinations that has set in, he noted, was very worrying and of great concern. Recalling his repeated expression of concern and detestation against such incidents, he said the aloof and hand-off approach of the administration has imperiled the security of mainstream leaders. Sharing in the grief of the bereaved family, Dr Farooq prayed for much needed strength to them to bear the inconsolable loss. He also prayed for peace to the soul of the deceased in the hereafter.

Meanwhile Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, MP from Anantnag Hassnain Masoodi, state Secretary Sakina Itoo, GA Shah, South Zone President Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri, District President Kulgam Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Imran Nabi Dar have also condemned the killing of Ghulam Hassan Lone in unequivocal terms. The functionaries have also expressed unison with the bereaved in their hour of grief and loss. (KNS)
