Dr Farooq visits Durga Nag Temple Dalgate

 

Srinagar, October 24:(KNS) The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice President Omar Abdullah extended warm greetings to the people on Maha Navami, Dussehra.

The duo in their message said that festivals like these reflect J&K’s cultural and religious richness. They prayed that the festive fervor brings peace and happiness to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the country at large.

Meanwhile Dr Farooq on Saturday paid a visit to the ancient Durga Nag Mandir Dalgate on the occasion of Maha Navami and extended warm greetings to the devotees who had thronged the temple following the Maha Navmi observance. On the occasion, the Party President interacted with the devotees and inquired about the facilities being provided to them in the temple complex.

While interacting with the devotees, the Party President said, “The tradition of religious pluralism has deep roots in the history of Kashmir valley. NC since its inception has been working tirelessly to strengthen that prized heirloom of communal harmony and bonhomie inherited by Kashmir from generation to generation.”

He further said that Kashmiris irrespective of their caste, creed, and religious affiliations have fought with the contriving communal and divisive forces passionately. He also expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to the devotees in the temple and urged the concerned management to augment the facilities to meet the ever increasing rush of the devotees.

Party’s Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial presidents Nasir Wani Sogami, Devender Singh Rana have also extended warm greeting to people on the eve of Dussehra.(KNS)
