Srinagar July 14 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed profound grief over the demise of the revered mother of Ex MLA and JKNC District President Anantnag Altaf Ahmed Wani.

In their condolence message, the duo prayed for peace to the departed soul and much needed strength to bereaved family, particularly Altaf Ahmed Wani to bear the inconsolable loss with fortitude. 

Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah visited Ashmuqam early morning and participated in Namaz e Janaza of the deceased. Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, MP Hasnain Masoodi, Senior Leader Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi, Advocate Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Showkat Ganaie and others participated in the Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased. 

Later party leaders visited the residence of Altaf Wani at Ashmuqam and offered condolences to the bereaved. Among those who visited Ashmuqam included Senior leader Sakina Itoo, Tanvir Sadiq, Dr Bashir Veeri, Ali Mohammad Dar, Imran Nabi Dar, Ahsan Pardesi, Salman Ali Sagar, Mudassar Shahmiri, Farooq Shah, Gh Mohiudin Mir, Sheikh Mohammad Rafi and others.

Meanwhile JKNC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Senior leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Abdul Rahim Rather, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, Mubarak Gul, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Shameema Firdous, Pirzada Gh Ahmed Shah, Party MP Muhammad Akbar Lone, Zone President Javed Dar, Senior Vice President Kashmir Province Muhammad Syed Akhoon, District Presidents Peer Afaq Ahmed, Qaiser Jamshed Lone, GR Naaz, Dr Sajjad Shafi, Provincial Secretary Advocate Showkat Ahmed Mir, Social Media incharge Sarah Hayat Shah, Muhammad Khalil Bandh, Pir Muhammad Hussain, Aga Syed Mehmood, women's wing Provincial President Er Sabiya Qadri, Shabir Ahmed Kullay have also expressed sympathies and condolences with Altaf Ahmed Wani on his bereavement.
