Srinagar, Apr 1(KNS) : In a significant show of the Union Territory administration’s commitment to preserving Sufi heritage, Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Tuesday paid obeisance at the revered Bara Sadaat Shrine in Teilbal, Srinagar, on the occasion of the annual Urs.
Dr Andrabi offered prayers for peace, harmony, and the continued progress of the region, seeking blessings for the well-being of the people. The shrine witnessed a massive influx of devotees since yesterday, with the Waqf Board overseeing extensive arrangements to facilitate the pilgrims.

Speaking on the occasion, the Waqf Chairperson emphasized the role of spiritual centres in fostering unity. “Our spiritual centres are the beacons of harmony and sacredness. The glory of our Sufi centres signifies the glory of our spiritual quest. The Waqf Board has committed itself to develop and facilitate all such spiritual centres throughout Jammu & Kashmir,” Dr Andrabi stated.
Senior officials, including Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, Administrator Khursheed Ahmad Shah, and Assistant Engineer Syed Murtaza, accompanied the Chairperson during the visit. (KNS)
