Rajouri March 06 (KNS): Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, continued her development tour of Rajouri on the second day today and inaugurated the newly constructed modern and high-tech Conference Hall in Rajouri town. Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma accompanied her during the inauguration.
Later, Dr Andrabi chaired a meeting in the same hall to review arrangements for Eid, Juma-tul-Vida and Shab-e-Qadr. The meeting was attended by officials from the district administration, Waqf officers, religious preachers, Ulema and Imams. Among those present were DC Abhishek Sharma, ACR Mohd Jhangir Khan, Tehsildar HQ Rajouri Insha Khalid, Executive Engineer PHE Munir Hussain, Executive Engineer PDD Rajouri Faqir Din, Liaqat Ali T.O to SE PHE, Assistant Director Food and Supply Rohit Kumar, Station House Officer Rajouri Hilal Azhar, District Information Officer Rajouri Ashiq Rafiq Malik, and Waqf Administrator and Board Administrator Abdul Qayoom Mir.
The Waqf Chairperson stressed the need for a coordinated work plan to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the people ahead of Eid and during the festival.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelShe thanked the Deputy Commissioner for the cooperation extended by the local administration to the Waqf Board.
Later, Dr Darakhshan inaugurated the sanitary complex at Ziarat Abdul Rehman Shah (RA) and laid carpets at Jamia Masjid at the Ziarat in Fatehpur, Rajouri.
Speaking to the press, Dr Andrabi said that the Board has delivered remarkably despite a lot of negativity around. “We fought a tough battle against the tradition of misappropriation of resources in the Waqf Board amid huge opposition from those who were beneficiaries of this mismanagement, but with our clear resolve and honest intentions, we were able to transform the whole body of the Board across Jammu and Kashmir. Today, our work speaks louder than our statements. We are happy that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are endorsing the historic work done by our team during the past four years,” she said.(KNS)
