Pahalgam, Apr 2 (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Thursday participated in the ‘Zool Festival’ (Festival of Lights) at the shrine of Sakhi Zainuddin Wali (RA) in Aishmuqam, Pahalgam, on the eve of the annual Urs of the saint.
Officials said the festival, organised as a permanent auspicious event, commemorates a centuries-old tradition. Dr Andrabi joined thousands of devotees, paid obeisance at the shrine, and prayed for the peace and prosperity of all.
Speaking on the occasion, the Waqf Chairperson said light signifies purity and devotion which wipes off the darkness of the soul, adding that such meaningful traditions need to continue with fervor and dignity.
