Srinagar July 7 (KNS): Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, was felicitated today by the Consolidated Employees Group of the Waqf Board at Dargah Hazratbal. The event recognized her leadership and recent steps to improve employee welfare, including a long-overdue hike in wages and other reforms.
The felicitation ceremony also honoured Waqf Board members Dr. Ghulam Nabi Haleem, Peer Syed Mohammed Haqqani, and Executive Magistrate Ishtiaq Mohiuddin for their contributions. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Andrabi said that after streamlining the Board’s management and finances, the focus shifted to upgrading infrastructure and Sufi shrine complexes across Jammu and Kashmir. “We revised salaries that had not been updated for decades. These welfare steps have uplifted the morale of our employees and engagees,” she said.
Dr. Andrabi praised the teamwork of the Board and staff, saying more major initiatives are planned to further strengthen and modernize the Waqf system in the Union Territory.(KNS)
