Addresses party meeting in Kokernag; Emphasises Strengthening Public-Administration Link

Srinagar, June 21 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said the ongoing efforts of the Omar Abdullah-led government to bridge the gap between the public and administration, with a special focus on developmental initiatives in far-flung regions, including Kokernag is commendable.

Dr. Farooq made these remarks while addressing a party meeting in Kokernag. The meeting was organized by MLA Kokernag, Choudhary Zafar Khatana. Provincial President Showkat Mir, MLA Pahalgam & District president Ananatnag Altaf Ahmad Wani, party leader G N Adigami, Youth & Women's wing functionaries, and DDC members were also present on the occasion.

He said that the people of J&K have experienced significant relief due to the pro-people initiatives undertaken by the current democratic government, aimed at enhancing public engagement and administrative responsiveness.

During the meeting, Dr. Farooq interacted with party functionaries and listened to their concerns and suggestions. He assured them that the issues raised would be conveyed to the concerned ministers and relevant forums for prompt resolution.

He also stressed the importance of party functionaries serving as a vital link between the public and the administration.

"The Omar Abdullah-led government has brought public welfare to the forefront. Gone are the days when decisions were made behind closed doors. Today, people are active stakeholders in policy formulation. The corridors of power in the Jammu and Srinagar secretariats have been opened to the public, enabling citizens to directly approach their legislators to get their issues resolved. Omar Abdullah has revolutionized the administration by making it more responsive, accountable, and in tune with the needs and aspirations of the people,” he said.

He also called for the immediate conduct of by-elections for the two vacant Legislative Assembly seats, stating that democratic representation is essential for ensuring that the voices of our people in these segments are also heard and respected.
