Srinagar Apr 30 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah in honor of Labour Day (May Day), commended the determination of countless workers in organised and unorganised sectors.

He commends the unwavering determination and hard work of the countless workers who contribute significantly to the development of the region. Dr. Abdullah asserts that the party remains dedicated to advocating for the welfare of fixed income groups and daily wage earners, including artisans.

While the world celebrates May 1st as International Labour Day, the sacrifices made by our artisans in these local struggles are often overlooked. I take this moment to honor the martyrs of the Zaldagar massacre. It is crucial for our community to remember the sacrifices made by our artisans at Zaldagar and the Silk factory. These events served as a catalyst for the movement against the oppressive regime led by Sher-e Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah," Dr. Farooq said.
