 New Delhi, 02 Aug(KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of the Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday met with President Droupadi Murmu, along with 31 opposition MPs on Wednesday to seek her intervention in Manipur, Haryana.

He also emphasized the urgency of addressing the serious matter of the train killings, where a RPF constable killed three Muslims and his senior.

During his interaction with President Murmu, Dr. Farooq expressed that India, being a diverse country with various religions, cannot afford to have such communal riots. He said that such incidents are intended to destabilize the nation and stressed that every individual has the right to practice their religion, a fundamental principle enshrined in the constitution of India. 

He expressed deep concern over the ongoing wrongful acts and urged president Murmu to ensure that the law remains supreme, with no one taking it into their own hands.

Dr. Farooq underscored the consequences of allowing hate-driven crimes to go unchecked, warning that they could have a cascading effect on other regions. He called for stringent action against those responsible for the communal riots in Manipur, Haryana and the killing spree on Train. He lamented that such incidents are tarnishing the secular identity of the country and called upon President Murmu to take necessary measures to restore a sense of relief and unity among citizens.(KNS).
