Jammu, Mar 19 (KNS): Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar Director General Indian Systems of Medicine, J&K Jammu today inaugurated the new Computerized OPD counter, New OPD Block & new Surgical OPD block in Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar said that Indian Systems of Medicine have an age old acceptance both at home and abroad, J&K being no exception there is paradigm shift towards AYUSH World over, more and more people are attracted towards this system.
He informed that Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu have treated more than 46000 patients in OPD , 4400 in Surgical OPD and 4500 in Panchkarma. He further said that in Ayurvedic Hospital 720 surgical intervention are done during last year through knife less Kashar Sutra surgical procedures. During last period of time many patients shifted to Ayurvedic method of treatment by the awareness done by Government Ayurvedic Hospital through its outreach programme in which thousands of patients (4500)got benefitted.
He further added that the Department of ISM is providing health care facilities through 560 standalone ISM (Ayurvedic/Unani) dispensaries and two state level hospital Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu & Govt. Unani Hospital at Shalteng, Srinagar.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Besides the department is running 2 AYUSH units at Govt. Medical Colleges Jammu/Srinagar, 22 (Twenty two) 10- Bedded AYUSH units in District Hospital and 11AYUSH units in CHC’s.
Moreover the department is providing AYUSH OPD in all PHC’s of the state through 458 Medical Officers and 363 Pharmacists.429 Medical Officers AYUSH have been sanctioned engaged through RBSK under mainstreaming of AYUSH.87 new ISM Institutions have been sanctioned by the cabinet recently along with staff.
Construction work for establishment of two Govt. Medical Colleges, Ayurvedic Medical Colleges at Jammu and Unani Medical College at Srinagar has been almost completed and the process of starting of first batches is being initiated.
Present among other include Dr. Taran Singh Medical Superintendent, Dr. Rajneesh Chander I/C Surgical Unit, Dr. Ajay Tickoo I/C Panchkarma, Dr. Aruna Bhat I/C Radiology Unit, Dr. Rakesh Shan ADMO DODA, Dr. Anil Kant ADMO Udhampur, Dr. Rohit Gupta Nodal Officer Samba and I/C IEC, Dr. Jatinder Gupta A.C Store, Dr. Sujata Sathu I/C Wellness center, Dr. Deepa Kachroo, Dr. Bipin Chander, Dr. Neetu Handoo and other staff of ISM Department.
