DPS Srinagar conducts traffic awareness session

Srinagar October 13 (KNS):  Delhi Public School, Athwajan recently conducted a traffic awareness programme with students of classes 9th to 12th in two different sessions. Talking to the students, SSP traffic Srinagar Mr. Muzaffar Shah and Tariq Ahmad showed and motivated students through a powerful PowerPoint presentation on all the current traffic problems faced by everyone in the city. He said, " The traffic problems include bike stunts, Jay walking, underage driving, etc"In a statement, SSP traffic Srinagar also added "responsible driving and maintaining traffic discipline is not just a legal responsibility but also an ethical and moral obligation. Young people like students must especially remember this so that not only do they prevent accidents and preserve the health of themselves and others, but also to augur themselves an era of responsible adulthood and positive citizenship".


Later, the programme concluded with a session of question and answer wherein rounds of questions and answers were asked by students, and queries were addressed extensively by SSP traffic Mr. Muzaffar Shah and Tariq Ahmad (SP traffic).


In view of this event held on the premises of the school, Principal Shafaq Afshan said " At DPS Srinagar, we believe in the creation of a responsible society. The program was aimed at furthering this very cause and we are glad to have contributed to it". In a brief statement, Chairman Mr. Dhar also commented that the event was a way towards, ", a responsible society which is dependent upon aware citizens and aware citizenship is the first step towards an empowered nation. We are proud therefore to have conducted this session and contribute towards nation-building".(KNS)
