Women education imperative for dev of society: G H Mir

Srinagar, Mar 08 (KNS): Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Wednesday said that the education for women is imperative for the development of any society.
Addressing a gathering here at a local hotel on the function organized by DPN on ‘International Women’s Day’, Mir said, “The society can’t be developed until the women of society can’t be mentally educated as the education of a women is imperative for development.”

Referring to the 8-year-old girl from Bandipora who won the world kick-boxing championship in Italy, Mir said, “I am happy to see changes in the society as the minor girl participated in the World Kick-boxing championship and won the title there.”
He later appealed to the government to launch a drive in the different departments and areas to increase the women representatives. “The government must launch a drive in different departments and areas where the women representatives are minimal and should increase the women representatives,” Mir said.
