Srinagar, Nov 28 (KNS): District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Anantnag KK Sidha on Saturday ordered disciplinary proceedings into an alleged misconduct of a government employee who influenced a prospective DDC candidate and barred him not to take part in electoral process.
An order copy vide no. 399 of 2020 dated 27.11.2020 that lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) reads, “Pending enquiry into the alleged misconduct, violation of Model Code of Conduct and influencing the prospective candidate not to take part in electoral process, Sh. Mohammad Shafi Malik, Panchayat Inspector, Block Achabal is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and attached with Additional Deputy Commissioner (G), Anantnag”.
The order further reads, “Additional Deputy Commissioner (G), Anantnag (Nodal Officer, MCC) shall serve charge sheet, conduct enquiry into the matter and furnish a detailed report within a week”.
Pertinently Union Territory Election Commissioner KK Sharma had clarified that DDC, Panchayat and Urban elections across Jammu and Kashmir would be conducted in a free and fair atmosphere. He asserted that whosoever would be found involved in violating code of conduct, would be dealt strictly. (KNS)
