Bandipora, Jan 04 (KNS): Residents of Different areas of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district here on Thursday staged massive protests against the erratic power supply, disrupting traffic for hours together due to Wich traffic Came into Grinding Halt.
The residents from dozen areas of Bandipora especially Kaloosa, Nowpora, Stadium Colony, Ajar, Sonarwani, Plan, Main Market Bandipora and other adjoining areas Staged Massive Protests Against Non Availability of Power Supply, Residents said that they are living in a miserable condition due to the erratic power supply since Darbaar Shifted to Jammu.
People has been plunged into darkness. Area receive power supply only for few hours with frequent cuts. There is darkness all around in the evenings as electric supply is switched off without any notice, Protesters said.

Bandipora Bastion has been ignored by all the previous regimes and has become politically orphan since 90’s, added that Kashmir Valley faces discrimination in power sector a local from Plan Bandipora said Wishing Anonymity.
The government provides uninterrupted power supply to the Jammu, but doesn’t provide same to the valley, it is totally Sheer Injustice with us, Another Resident from Nowpora said.

Protesters from Ajar alleged that there is no scheduled power supply to their localities and demanded immediate intervention of higher authorities into the matter.
After the assurance from the
concerned authorities, the protesters dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
Meanwhile, a PDD official said that the power supply to the village would be restored in a day or two. (KNS)
