Jammu, Feb 17(KNS): Celebrating ten years of academic excellence and holistic development, Doon International School Jammu marked its decennial milestone with a grand Annual Day celebration themed “The Decade of Dreams.” The senior wing event was a vibrant reflection of the institution’s inspiring journey since its establishment in 2015, charting its rise as one of the region’s leading centres of learning.
The glittering celebration was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Commissioner Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. In his address, he lauded the school for fostering innovation, creativity and a spirit of inquiry among students, emphasizing the crucial role educational institutions play in preparing young minds for a rapidly evolving world.
Special Guest Col. Harinder Singh and Guest of Honour S.G.M. Andrabi, retired Senior Superintendent of Police, also attended the function. They inspired students by sharing insights from their professional journeys and encouraged them to pursue excellence with discipline and integrity.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment. Principal and Founder Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur formally welcomed the dignitaries, parents and students, and presented a detailed Decade Report. The report encapsulated the school’s remarkable progress over the past ten years, highlighting academic achievements, infrastructural expansion, state-of-the-art facilities, technological integration, and notable co-curricular accomplishments at various platforms.

Academic Managers Ms. Gazia Khan and Ms. Silma Sehrish were also commended for maintaining high academic standards and implementing progressive learning methodologies.
The highlight of the evening was a captivating series of cultural performances presented by senior students. Through a blend of dance, drama and music, the performers artistically narrated the school’s decade-long journey—from humble beginnings to becoming a hub of academic and creative excellence. The performances showcased not only the immense talent of the students but also the dedication of the faculty in nurturing confidence, leadership and artistic expression.
The event was meticulously coordinated by CCA Coordinator Ms. Amardeep Kaur and Coordinator Ms. Avneet Kaur under the supervision of Headmistress Ms. Shivali Singh Pathania. The management appreciated the collective efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff, whose teamwork ensured the celebration was conducted with grandeur and precision.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Vice Principal Dr. Sarita Moza Koul, who expressed deep gratitude to parents for their trust, support and partnership throughout the institution’s journey.
