Assures families of martyrs that whole nation is with them

Srinagar, Jun 23 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Friday appealed the Muslims to not forget the poor, needy, destitute, and the families of those incarcerated, in the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah, who continues to be under house arrest, appealed Muslims to celebrate the Eid with simplicity and austerity saying “we’re passing through a very critical phase of our freedom movement and living in an atmosphere where tyranny and oppression rule the roost”.
He said though Eid is an occasion of happiness, but the Eid of slave nations is when they achieve freedom.
Shah said “Kashmiri nation is struggling for their freedom from last 70 years and during this period, lakhs of people were killed, thousands subjected to enforced disappearance, hundreds of our women raped by Indian occupational forces by using them as a war tool, thousands of our children blinded and maimed by lethal weapons”.
Slamming the State’s “puppet administration”, Shah said to inflict more brutalities upon people, more lethal weapons were demanded from Delhi that too on the eve of Eid. “This is extremely shameful.”
Shah said, “We’re celebrating this Eid amongst our 25000 widows and more than one lakh orphans. How can we ignore the poor orphans and those elderly whose sons were subjected to disappearance after being arrested?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThere are thousands of tragedies that are still haunting us.”
Shah appealed the affluent families of the State to take care of the needy people in their respective areas and fulfil their needs saying it is our social, moral and religious responsibility to do so. “Along with freedom movement, we have to fulfil our responsibilities towards the needy people of our surroundings. This way we will earn the pleasure of Allah,” he said.
The DFP chairman assured the families of martyrs that whole nation is with them and indebted to the sacrifices of their sons and that the mission of martyrs will be accomplished at all costs.
“We have firm belief that dawn of freedom will rise and the dreams of our martyrs will be fulfilled,” Shah said and appealed people to visit the families of the incarcerated people and take their care.
Meanwhile, on Shah’s directions, a party delegation comprising district president Pulwama, Mohammad Amin and Farooq Ahmad visited the families of martyrs and expressed condolence and solidarity with them.
Shah also talked over phone with the families of Kakapora martyrs and expressed condolence and solidarity with them besides assured them that the sacrifices of their sons will not go in waste. (KNS)
