Srinagar, Nov 12 (KNS): Doctors in Kashmir have welcomed the government’s decision of conducting interview of doctors for SKIMS lecturers in Srinagar.
In a statement to KNS, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) said the decision will give respite to hundreds of doctors for whom going to Jammu was impossible in view of their tight duty schedule in hospitals.
SKIMS authorities had earlier fixed interview for the post of lectures in SKIMS Bemina in Jammu that created uproar as it would have given lot of inconvenience to aspirants and also impacted the patient care.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
While hailing the decision, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan said taking doctors to Jammu would have compounded the problems in hospitals which are already deficient in staff.
“The candidates who were voicing against shifting of interview venue to Jammu have taken a sigh of relief after the decision,” he said.
He claimed that as soon the doctors’ body approached government and conveyed that calling of doctors to Jammu will affect patient care, the government immediately changed the venue. (KNS)
