Srinagar, Feb 14 (KNS): Democratic Liberation Front (DLF) Sunday said that they are going to represent Kashmir in United Nations session slated to be held in the first week of March and said the sufferings of the Kashmiri people will be discussed there.
While addressing to the people in a seminar titled, ‘Has gun proven to be the enemy of Kashmir, Will violence achieve anything?’ organized by DLP, Junaid Qureshi DLP’s Diplomatic Foreign Affair (DFA) said that they have already represented Kashmiris in UN sessions is past. “I am not able to narrate the exact sufferings of people but the Kashmiris are the only who can narrate their tale before UN officials,” he said.
He said that the youth whose educational career has been hampered by the Kashmiri leadership by calling frequent shutdowns should get a chance to speak over the Kashmir issue. “We should provide a platform to the youngsters of Kashmir to narrate their sufferings and their suggestion over the decades pending K-issue,” he said.
He said that the gun has proven disaster to the Kashmiri people while at the same time it helped Kashmiris to raise their voices. “Gun didn’t help Kashmiris to achieve the goal so far. We should take a proper step to pressurize the International community to resolve Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of people,” he said.
Meanwhile, there were several scholars and academician present in the seminar including a renowned scholar, Aga Ashraf, Mehraj-ud-Din, criminology teacher, Professor K N Pandita and others.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Aga Ashraf while speaking in the seminar said that Kashmiris should get united to achieve their goal. “Until and unless we will not get united in the cause, the goal will not be achieved,” he said.
Mehraj while speaking in the occasion said that gun is the only cause due to which Kashmiri are facing tremendous hardships. “We are being treated as terrorists. Nobody is aware about the sufferings of Kashmiri people but without going through it everybody is treating us as terrorists,” he said.
He said that the separation among the Kashmiri9s is the only cause of delay in achieving goal.
While haling the role played by Pandits, Criminology professor said that the role played by Kashmiri Pandits in the educational filed cannot be ignored.
K N Pandita said that the Kashmir issue pending since decades cannot be resolve till the people won’t prepare their mindsets about it.
There were several students also present in the seminar who said that independence is not only meant to vacate forces from the Valley but every individual should get a right to survive accordingly.
“We are being deprived from the rights in the society as well. If we are seeking independence then we should get independence in every aspect,” said a girl student while speaking on the occasion said. (KNS)
