Srinagar, Feb 23 (KNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan has stated that fuel rationing has been done in view of shortage of stocks due to prolonged closure of National Highway and efforts are being made to replenish the stocks shortly. He appealed the public to avoid rumours over the issue.
Further, the Divisional Commissioner stated that Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs has been asked to ensure proper distribution of ration as the same has been received in stocks and there is procedural requirement of advance stocking of ration for the month of March and there is nothing to create panic about it.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe further elaborated that availability of essential supplies has been as asked to be ensured for public convenience
The Divisional Commissioner earlier reviewed with Deputy Commissioners the availability of stocks and supplies asking them to keep a close tab on hoarding and profiteering till sufficient stocks are replenished. He asked the DCs to ensure rationing of available stocks for equitable distribution.
The Div Comm also reviewed the availability of stocks in Summer capital Srinagar with Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and other senior officers. (KNS)
