Kupwara, Feb 6 (KNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hasssan Samoon today chaired a meeting at Kupwara to review the progress and functioning of various departments in the district.
Divisional Commissioner took stock of the preparations of Aadhaar Cards besides availability of ration, healthcare facilities, supply of electricity and drinking water.
Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara apprised the Divisional Commissioner that 85%of developmental works have been completed under the district plan 2015 and about 88 km of road stretch has been macadamized. The divisional commissioner also chaired a conference on Urdu language in the district and asked upon the officials to use Urdu language signboard in offices alongside English.
The conference was also attended by Prof Hameed Naseem Rafiabadi, Joint Private School Association president G N Var and others.
The participants submitted a proposal to the divisional commissioner for setting up Anzar Shah university for promotion of Urdu language. (KNS)
