Div Com, IGP visit Jamia Masjid Sgr, Masjid likely to be reopened for prayers

 Srinagar, Feb 28 (KNS): Divisional commissioner Kashmir P K Pole and IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Monday visited Jamia Masjid Srinagar to review arrangements for reopening of the Masjid for prayers.

 
Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the officials visited the Masjid as government is planning to reopen it for prayers.
 
They said that during their visit to central Jamia Masjid, they held a meeting with Intezamia committee including Masjid Imam and secretary.
 
Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir confirmed to KNS that they visited the Jamia Masjid as they were planning to reopen it for prayers.
 
During the visit SSP Srinagar, intezamia committee and others were also present on the occasion. 
 
However Anjumn Auqaf expressed hope that the administration will allow opening of Jamia Masjid. 
 Talking to KNS, general Secretary Auqaf said that divisional commissioner Kashmir and IGP Kashmir along with other officials visited Jamia Masjid today to take stock of arrangements and other issues as government is mulling to reopen Masjid for prayers.
 
“We also apprised them that this is a public demand that Jamia Masjid be reopened for prayers. They also said that they are aware of the public problem. Now we are hopeful that Masjid will be reopened for prayers,” he said.(KNS)
