Ganderbal, Sep 13 (KNS): J&K Rowing and Sculling Association’s District Ganderbal Indoor Rowing Championship 2022 came to an end at Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.
This was the first time in history that such type of event was been organized in ganderbal in which more than 200 players from various clubs and institutions of the Ganderbal district took part in the competition, both in the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
Various categories of the competition were held. Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Mr Shyambir IAS , attended the event as a chief guest and CO 24 RR attended as Guest of honour. DC interacted with the players before flagging off the district championship.
President Voice for Peace & Justice and District President J&K Rowing and Sculling Association Farooq Ganderbali said this is best time for our children's to participate in sports and also thanked Centre government and LG government for providing best facilities for our children's.
He also urged youth to stay away from the evil activities like drug abuse which slowly killing our young generation and requested parents to keep vigil check on kids. He thanked the DC ganderbal and CO 24RR for their continous support towards promoting sports among the youths of ganderbal.
On the occasion Bilquis Mir , International water sports coach , members of Civil society, DDC, BDC Chairman Sherpathri Ali Mohd , Editor in Chief Asian Express Newspaper Mr Ajaz Kawoosi, President Utthaan Mission Trust Mr Zeeshan Farooq Dar , Social activist Sheikh Mushtaq , Chairman HSMS Nazir Ahmad Sofi , Dr Riyaz Ahmad renowned social activist and others were present.(KNS).
