District level awareness cum workshop on doubling farmers income held at Townhall kunzar

Kunzer, Sep 17 (KNS): District level workshop on doubling farmers’ income and nutritional security of farm families for "Atmanirbhar Bharat" Rashtriya poshan maah was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Baramulla (KVK) today at Townhall Kunzar. Principal Secretary Agriculture Production and farmers welfare, Animal Sheep Husbandry Department Govt. Of UT of JK, Shi Naveen Kumar Choudhary Was Chief guest the programme.
The main aim of the programme was to aware farmers about strategies and interventions to double the farmers income by 2022 and ensure nutritional security of farm families. At this occasion an exhibition and live samples on technologies developed in the field of temperate horticulture by central institute of temperate horticulture was also installed.The chief guest urged to form farmers producers organisation, adopt organic farming processing facilities for self employment of youths with support of different centrally sponsored and ut. government schemes for the direct benefits of farmers. Choudhary highlights the importance of several farmer friendly schemes of government.
In the programme E-Foundation stone of Go Grah as part of Integrated Farming System of KVK was laid by Sh.Navin Chaudhary (IAS) Principal Secretary Agriculture Production and farmers welfare, Animal Sheep Husbandry Department Govt. UT J&K in presence of Dr Manoj Kumar Senior Scientist and Head KVK, Dr. D B Singh Director ICAR-CITH.The Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla, SDM Gulmarg Shabirul Hassan, representative of volunteers organasitation and about 150 farmers, farm women and anganwadi workers were present in the programme. Earlier, Dr. Manoj Kumar, presented the activities undertaken and future plan of KVK for farmer welfare of the district.
