Srinagar May 21 (KNS) : District Congress Committee (Shopian) on Friday provided relief to poor and needy people on the death anniversary of Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who attained martyrdom on this day.

The Congress Leader Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday said as per the directions of the JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir, various congress activists, sarpanchs and panchs approached needy people at various places in the Shopian district and provided them medical kits, ration and masks.

Khanday further said that DCC Shopian observed the martyrdom of former PM by providing helping hand to needy people and it will continue to identify the poor for ensuring them assistance from the party, he added it will be party’s endeavor to reach poor people and covid patients to ensure assistance to them in these tough times.(KNS)
