Disengagement of professionals hired under ECRP unfortunate: CITU    

Srinagar, Sep 02 (KNS): General Secretary Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), J&K, Om Prakash has said that the decision of health department to disengage hundreds of professionals hired under Emergency Covid Response Package (ECRP) is unfortunate Instead of providing employment, it is even snatching the livelihood of those who have been serving the department in Covid pandemic.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Prakash said, “These professionals hired under Emergency Covid Response Package (ECRP) were earning their bread by working hard during the tough times of Covid and thereby risking their lives. They have been at the forefront of fight against Covid-19 pandemic and there is no genuine reason to disengage them.”

“Since Covid pandemic is not over yet, and there is apprehension of third wave at any time, we urge the administration to convert these hired professional into NHM scheme so that they are able to continue their work to serve the society and earn their livelihood,” he said. (KNS)
