Srinagar, Jul 31 (KNS): Twenty one employees of Municipal Committee Awantipora and Municipal Committee were Monday suspended after they were found absent from their duty during a surprise inspection by Director Urban Local Bodies, Riyaz Ahmad Wani.
Wani conducted surprise visit to Municipal Committee Awantipora and Tral today where he found 21 employees absent from their duties.
Sources informed KNS that 15 employees of Municipal Committee Tral and six employees of MC Awantipora were found absent from their duties.
They informed that all the absentees have been placed under suspension.
Meanwhile, Director ULB while talking to KNS correspondent said that they want to improve the work culture in offices.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The need of the hour is to make employees accountable,” he said.
He said people must come up with their complaints against the ‘erring’ officials. “We assure the people that their complaints against the insincere officials will be solved within no time,” he said.
Wani further said that remaining absent from the duty will not be tolerated as it results in the hardships to the people who visit the corporation for their works.
Pertinently, in a surprise visit, Wani has suspended over one dozen employees of Municipal Committee Pampore for remaining absent from duty. (KNS)
