Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNS): The director information and public relations, Jammu and Kashmir has sought explanation from the officials of the department for remaining absent from their duties in the month of September as per the report submitted by their respective DDOs even as the employees went on a strike to protest against halting of their salaries. 

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the employees of the department held a protest demonstration after the directorate ordered for halting of their salaries for remaining absent from their duties. 

Meanwhile, director information issued an order asking the concerned DDOs to stop the salary of those employees who have remained absent from their duties in the month of September, while the employees held a protest claiming that they remain on toes and work round the clock even during tough times.  

"It has been found that some of the officials have not marked their attendance regularly in the month of September,2021 as per the attendance report submitted by their respective DDOs. The officials have remained unauthorized absent from their duties without submitting any kind of leave. the officials have shown dereliction towards their legitimate duties," reads the order. 

It reads that in view of the above, the officials listed in Annexure are directed to explain their position within 2 days positively, failing which action as warranted under rules shall follow.

"The concerned DDOs are requested not to draw the salary of the listed officials for the month of September 2021 till the orders are not solicited by the Director Information," the order reads. 

When contacted joint director information, Inam ul haq acknowledged that the employees work round the clock, and he will take up the matter of the aggrieved employees with director information to resolve the issue amicably. (KNS)
