Director General horticulture chairs meet to review implementation of Modified High Density Plantation Scheme

Srinagar June 29:(KNS) Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director General Horticulture Kashmir,

today chaired a meeting regarding implementation of Modified High

Density Plantation Scheme. The said scheme has been launched in the JKUT in collaboration with National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED). The meeting was attended by officers of the department and representatives of agencies empaneled for execution of the scheme. During the meeting all the modalities of implementation of the scheme were thoroughly discussed. Being a time bound scheme, Director General stressed upon its timely completion. He also emphasized on the empaneled agencies to follow the quarantine measures in letter and spirit while importing planting material.

Later Director General directed all the Chief Horticulture Officers of

the division to prepare the list of applicants and subsequently forward it to NAFED for timely implementation of the scheme. It is pertinent to mention that the said scheme has been launched with an objective of enhancing production & productivity and doubling the farmers’ income.
