Jammu August 10:(KNS) Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Vivek Sharma, conducted a field tour to far off places of Ramban & Kishtwar districts.

During her first leg of tour, she inspected veterinary dispensary Chanderkot and reviewed the various departmental activities going on in the area.

The Director along with Chief Animal Husbandry officer Ramban, Dr. Satvir Singh Raina, inspected the site for construction of Veterinary Hospital at Chanerkote and later chaired a meeting to review the progress of various departmental schemes.

The Director AHD laid stress on officers to hold frequent interaction with farmers and spread mass awareness regarding departmental schemes through whatsAapp groups.

The status of various under construction veterinary buildings was also reviewed. The CAHO was advised to follow up the matter with the concerned executing agencies and also pay attention towards the construction of approach road and water connection to VD Batote, which was brought to the notice of the Director.

She also visited Koushal Dairy Farm Kough Bagh and interacted with its proprietor Koushal Singh.

In Kishtwar, the Director along with Chief Animal Husbandry officer, Dr. Syed Altaf, inspected the under construction NABARD buildings at Chatroo and Palmar Bhatta.

The Director directed the executing agencies to speed up the construction work. On the way, she inspected Tehsil unit Chatroo & LSD center Sangram Bhatta and checked the records & enquired about the availability of vaccine and medicine.

A meeting of doctors and staff was also held, where the Director laid stress on strengthening the laboratory facility in every VAS center for the proper diagnosis of animal ailments. She exhorted upon the officers to make awareness among the livestock breeders vis-à-vis recently launched departmental schemes which are aimed at doubling the farmers’ income and simultaneously advised them to adopt paper to ground approach in this regard. She also distributed KCC sanction letters to the progressive farmers of the area.

She along with CAHO Kishtwar met District Development Commissioner and discussed with him the modalities for early completion of under construction departmental buildings of the district and also various other issues related to the Animal husbandry sector.

The Director inspected the site earmarked for construction of “Gou-Shalla” & also visited a private Dairy & poultry farm in Sangram Batta area.

She appreciated the working of the staff of animal husbandry department Kishtwar & advised them to carry on in the same spirit in future also to benefit the farming community.(KNS)
