Srinagar, 21 May (KNS): Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today chaired a meeting regarding subsidy support for transportation of fruits, as the Government of J&K (UT) has earmarked funds for the said purpose.

The meeting was attended by the officers of the Department of Horticulture, Kashmir, representative of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, J&K, President Fruit Growers Association, President Canning Association, besides some prominent Cherry growers.

During the meeting, all aspects of providing transportation charges to farmers were thoroughly discussed.

A five-member committee was framed as per the directions of the Director for the preparation of a detailed plan in respect of providing of subsidy on freight charges of the cherry crop.(KNS)
