Srinagar, June 08, (KNS): Residents of upper Rajwar in north Kashmir’s Handwara town on Monday expressed strong resentment against the PMGSY department who failed to complete 10-kilometer stretch from Zachaldara to Satkoji, leaving passersby to suffer.
While talking to KNS, locals said the work on the said road had been started few years back but it is incomplete after taking much time. They expressed disappointment over the officials of PMGSY department who left the road full of patholes which turned it into streams during rainy seasons.
They also said that the road was macadamized few years back but the potholes have surfaced again on the road.
They alleged that they have informed the concern department repeatedly after which some officials visited the area to take stock of the situation but despite visits and assurances the road has not been repaired yet.
They appealed authorities to repair the road at an earliest so that problems faced by the locals will be eased out.
When KNS contacted to Executive Engineer PMGSY Handwara Fayaz Ahmad, he denied the allegation leveled by people and said that the work over on the road has already completed and added that maintenance work at some place is underway. (KNS)
