Ananthnag, Feb 03 (KNS) : Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javed Iqbal Mattoo-IPS, on Tuesday inaugurated a 10-day specialized training programme for investigating officers.
The programme, aimed at enhancing professional competence in handling complex cases, was launched at the District Police Office (DPO) in Anantnag, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amritpal Singh, along with the Deputy Directors of Prosecution (DDP) from Anantnag, Kulgam, and Shopian districts, were present at the inauguration, a police spokesperson stated.
The intensive curriculum will focus on critical legal frameworks and modern investigative techniques, including in-depth courses on the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Terror Financing, Digital Forensics, and Economic Offences, the spokesperson added.

"Special faculties and expert resource persons have been arranged to impart lectures on various advanced aspects of investigation," the spokesperson said.
The training is designed to significantly upgrade the investigative skills and legal understanding of officers to effectively counter emerging crime challenges in the region, the officials noted further in a statement. (KNS)
