DIG NKR extends Eid greetings, appeals people to follow Covid SOPs

Srinagar, July 19(KNS) : Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG) North Kashmir Sujit Kumar (IPS) Monday extended greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In his message, the DIG while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), he has also prayed for those who would sacrifice animals on the occasion of Eid. 

He urged the people to take extra precautions against Covid-19 while performing Eid prayers as the pandemic is not over yet. 

“In view of COVID-19 pandemic, I appeal to the people to observe this festival with utmost caution and abide by the social and health protocols of COVID-19 so as to stem the spread of this deadly disease,” he said. 

He said that keeping in mind that Covid-19 third wave would be most dangerous, people need to be very careful while performing Eid prayers so that their families and the community remains safe. 

He said by advising people that on this Eid-ul-Azha the sacrificial meat should be distributed among the poor and needy people so that they can also celebrate this Eid with happiness. (KNS)
