Srinagar March 16 (KNS): A Group of cricketers with loss of hearing on Wednesday met with Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari at his Party Office M2 Church lane Sonwar, Srinagar.

The group of cricketers came to express their vote of thanks to the party president for supporting their cricket tournament. Showing deep devotion for the welfare measure from the president, the team dedicated their award to Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.

Bukhari Said “I have always admired the sheer talent, drive and endurance displayed at sports by differently abled persons, including deaf cricket. It is imperative that players receive the right training and support, that helps them break the biases of disability”.

Expressing happiness over the winning of the match, Bukhari said," We need to treat people equally in our society despite the odds. Most importantly the youth being inclined towards sports is a positive gesture that deserved the support. I am happy to announce that the Ist T20 cricket championship for deaf would be starting from 19-20 August at Jehlum stadium Baramulla. I urge people to enjoy the game and support our champions," he said.(KNS)
