Jammu, Dec 04 (KNS): Director General of Police (DGP) Dr SP Vaid today visited Ramban where he inaugurated seven newly constructed blocks. Interacted with civil society members and addressed Police personnel.
During his interaction with civil society and address to the Police personnel the DGP Dr Vaid said that all the civil society groups such as doctors, teachers, lawyers, students have to continue their help in eradicating the menace of drugs from the state. He impressed upon the Police personnel to make dossiers of the drug peddlers and get them booked under Public Safety Act (PSA). He assured the civil society members that suitable rewards will be given to the people who inform the Police regarding the drug peddling in their areas and their names will be kept confidential.
The DGP who was accompanied by IGP Jammu Dr S D Singh Jamwal and DIG Doda Kishtwar Ramban range Sh Basant Rath, in his address, lauded the role of Police personnel and SPOs in maintaining peace and order in the district. Hailing efforts of SPOs and Police personnel who have worked for making erstwhile Doda district terrorism free, Director General of Police J&K directed officers of Jammu Zone to review the cases of SPOs for absorption and promised that the cases will be considered on priority at PHQ level.
Dr Vaid, said that mechanism have been laid for the transparency in recruitment, transfers, procurement and payments by adopting Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP), transfer policy, e-tendering and e-payments.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said that every case is decided on merits and initiatives are taken to ensure transparency in all administrative matters.
Interacting with the civil society members, DGP assured them that Police will provide all possible help in redressing the grievances of their respective areas of the people. He thanked the people of Ramban for maintaining communal harmony in the district. DGP further stated that it is his endeavour to reach the people of far off districts. In his welcome address SSP Ramban Sh Mohan Lal highlighted the work and achievements of his district on different fronts. He hailed the DGP for taking number of welfare measures and initiatives.
Earlier DGP got a warm reception from the members of different communities from different areas of the district.
Later, on DGP Dr Vaid inaugurated seven newly constructed administrative and residential blocks for the Police personnel at Parnote, Ramban. The DGP met the Quick Response Team volunteers engaged for the assistance of accident victims on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway. Hailing their efforts and this initiative of the Ramban Police, the DGP announced the reward of Rupees Thirty Thousand for the volunteers. (KNS)
