DGP sanctions welfare relief, loan over Rs.1.22 crore for 129 police personnel

Srinagar June 18 (KNS): In its series of welfare measures for police personnel, Director General of Police J&K  Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare loans in favour of 124 personnel of J&K Police. Welfare relief has also been granted to five needy personnel. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
 
Vide order No. 1847 dated 17 June 2021; welfare loan/relief of over Rs. 1.22 crore has been sanctioned in favour of these Police personnel, who are in need of financial assistance.
 
Rupees 27 lakh have been provided as loan in favour of 29 police personnel for self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependent suffering from different ailments and besides welfare relief of rupees 1.15 lakh was provided in favour of five personnel for the purpose of self-treatment or treatment of their dependants.
 
Similarly, rupees 80 lakh welfare loans have been sanctioned in favour of 80 personnel for the purpose of self marriage or for the marriage of their dependents. Also rupees 13 lakh welfare loan have been sanctioned in favour of 13 police personnel to support their wards in achieving higher/technical education. Besides rupees one lakh was sanctioned in favour of two police personnel for performing rituals like circumcision/mundan of their wards.
 
The welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and will be recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
 
Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing financial assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of martyred police personnel and wards of martyred SPOs.(KNS)
